Xiaomi finally launched their affordable budget smartphone Redmi 7a which is a successor to the Redmi 6a in India. Xiaomi claims the new Redmi 7A as a Smart Desh Ka smartphone and the device do comes with an improved specifications [primarily the optics] over its Chinese variant.
As far as Indian variant Redmi 7a specification goes - the device sports a 5.45-inch HD+ display with an old aspect ratio of 18:9. the device is powered by an octacore 12nm snapdragon 439 chipset coupled with 2 GB ram and 16/32 GB on-board storage with dedicated micro sd-card slot. In terms of optics indeed there is an upgrade,the redmi 7a Indian variant comes with a 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor [which is the same sensor found on xiaomi old handsets like the MI A2 and the Indian Redmi Note 7] as compared to Chinese Redmi 7a variant that comes with a 13MP unit while on front it features a 5MP selfie shooter.
The device packs a 4,000 mAh battery and supports 10w charger. connectivity option includes 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/A-GPS, GLONASS, built-in antenna FM Radio,micro-USB port.
The Redmi 7a will come in three colors - Matte Black, Matte Blue, and Matte Gold and will go on sale in India on 11th july at 12 PM . the device will be available on flipkart , Mi store, and Mi.com and will come with 2yrs warranty.
The redmi 7a price in india starts at Rs. 5,999 for 2/16 GB variant and Rs 6,199 for 2/32GB variant.
